Nose Implant
Nose implant is used to generally lift and define the bridge of the nose and to accentuate the shape of the tip of the nose. Nose implants can also be used to correct trauma to the nose due to accident or genetic defects causing a malformation or asymmetrical appearance to the nose.
An inconspicuous incision is made inside the nasal cavity and the nose is dissected to create a space for the nose implant. It is carefully positioned, the nose tip is defined and then the incision is closed with surgical sutures.
During consultation you are obligated to inform a surgeon of your lifestyle and any medications/vitamins/supplements you may be using as such can affect your treatment and also prolong your recovery.
Nose implant surgery does not usually require an overnight stay in the hospital and an hour after surgery the patient can go home.
The risks involved in nose implant surgery include bleeding, infection, temporary bruising and swelling. Other risks include an asymmetrical appearance to the nose due to a misaligned or sagging implant and incorrect pressure causing swelling and redness in the nose tip.
